Adafruit MCP3008 8 channel (856) A/D converter with SPI interface
Adafruit MCP3008 8 Channel (856) A/D Converter with SPI Interface
Adafruit Microchip Add 8 channels of 10-bit analog input to your microcontroller or microcomputer. It's super easy to use, and uses SPI so only 4 pins are required. A great addition to the Raspberry Pi computer because it has fun analog inputs but the Pi doesn't have an ADC. The Microchip Technology Inc. MCP3008 devices are an approach 10-bit analog-to-digital (A/D) converter with on-board sample-and-hold circuitry. The MCP3008 is switchable to provide four pseudo-differential input pairs or eight single-ended ones. Differential Nonlinearity (DNL) and Integral Nonlinearity (inl) given at +/-1 LSB. Communication with the devices takes place via a simple serial interface compatible with the SPI protocol. The devices are capable of converting at a speed of up to 200 ksps. The mcp3008 devices work on a wide voltage range (2.7 V – 5.5 V). Low current design allows operation with typical standby currents of only 5 NA and typical active currents of 320 microamps. The offered mcp3008 is simplified into 16 pin PDIP and SOIC. RoHS compliance.
